Abstract:
To evaluate the accuracy and applicability of the Fengyun-4A satellite land surface temperature (FY-4A LST) product over the Tibetan Plateau, focusing on the Tibetan Plateau region in 2023, using concurrent ground-based station observations and MODIS LST products (MOD11_L2) as references, the spatial distribution and temporal variations of FY-4A LST accuracy were analyzed based on assessment metrics including accuracy, uncertainty, and precision. The results show that: (1) FY-4A LST exhibits high consistency with both ground-based station observations and MODIS LST observations, with A values of -5.31 and -0.77, respectively. However, FY-4A LST exhibits a tendency toward underestimation. (2) The accuracy of FY-4A LST tends to decrease from southeast to northwest in spatial distribution. (3) Compared with ground-based station observations, the accuracy is highest in bare land areas, while compared with MODIS LST products, the accuracy is highest in grassland areas. (4) FY-4A LST exhibits a greater deviation and more significant underestimation in summer.
