Analysis of the Relationship between Air Pollution and Meteorological Conditions in Chengdu

  • Based on the pollutant concentration and meteorological data of Chengdu City from December 2015 to December 2019,the variation characteristics of PM10,PM2.5,CO,O3,SO2,NO2 and their correlation with meteorological elements were analyzed. The results show that: From 2016 to 2019,the air quality in Chengdu is the worst in winter and the best in autumn, and the overall air quality is good in the whole year, with less severe pollution and serious pollution weather, and the air quality is getting better year by year; Except for O3,the concentration of main pollutants is the highest in winter and the lowest in summer, the difference is not significant between spring and autumn, but the variation of O3 concentration is opposite; The diurnal variation characteristics of main pollutants are also obvious. The air quality index,PM10,PM2.5,CO,NO2 concentration have significant negative correlation with temperature and precipitation, significant positive correlation with air pressure, and negative correlation with relative humidity in varying degrees, but no significant correlation with wind speed;O3 concentration not only has significant positive correlation with wind speed, temperature and precipitation, but also has significant negative correlation with atmospheric pressure, but has no significant correlation with relative humidity.
