Ground-based Lidar Measurements of Aerosol Vertical Distributions in Golmud,Qinghai

  • Since August 2013,MARMOT(Middle Atmosphere Remote Mobile Observatory in Tibet) lidar has been deployed in Golmud(36.25°N,94.54°E) ,Qinghai for making nighttime measurements of aerosol vertical distribution.Aerosol data obtained by this ground-based lidar showed good consistency compared with the CALIPSO satellite measurements.The variations of aerosol extinction coefficient were related to the synoptic background,wind speed,as well as to the human activities,indicating that anthropogenic emissions have great influence on ambient aerosol concentration.
