Abstract
This paper focuses on a refinement space-time characteristics analysis of a process of rain followed by snow which occurred during 18-19 Feb,2013 in Jingmen,Hubei Province using the high space-time resolution wind profiler data. The conclusion are the following.1) The wind field of the wind profiler clearly shows that the southward move and enhancement of the cold air lead to the enhancement of cold advection transportation results in the thickening of the cold wedge developed by north wind in the lower layer and the change of precipitation phase;2) It reveals that the convective occurred in the mid and upper air above the lower layer cold wedge by the analyses of the refinement wind field and power spectral density product;3) This snow weather process with thunder occurred in the upper air by the interaction of cold front lifting, release of latent heat, vertical wind shear and transit of mid layer trough;4) The refractive index structure constant product from wind profiler can show the change of precipitation intensity during the process and provide guides for refinement nowcasting forecast.
