Discussion about Doppler Weather Radar Reflectivity Factor Selection Method on Quantitative Estimation of Precipitation

  • Radar rainfall estimate is based on the Z- R relationship. There have been many works on the selection of A, b in the formula that affect precipitation estimation accuracy, but how to select the appropriate Z value is a necessary work. The article used the settled Z- R relationship to find out the affection among the selection of Z in precipitation estimate. The result shows that the accuracy of precipitation estimation based on the average Z selection method is better than any single scanning selection method.
