Regional Torrent Risk Zonation for Mianzhu City in Sichuan

  • Based on GIS technique,an exponential model with Analytic Hierarchy Process method(AHP) is used for the torrent risk zonation in Mianzhu city,which is a typical torrent hazard area in Sichuan province.The torrent disaster information data in the past 20 years is applied for the comparison and validation.The results show that moderate-to-high risk area and high risk area are mainly located in the middle of Mianzhu,especially in mountain and along-mountain area,which is consistent with the actual situation.All of these results provide a scientific basis to the local government for the torrent disaster prevention and mitigation planning and layout.
