Regional Torrent Risk Zonation for Mianzhu City in Sichuan

Based on GIS technique,an exponential model with Analytic Hierarchy Process method(AHP) is used for the torrent risk zonation in Mianzhu city,which is a typical torrent hazard area in Sichuan province.The torrent disaster information data in the past 20 years is applied for the comparison and validation.The results show that moderate-to-high risk area and high risk area are mainly located in the middle of Mianzhu,especially in mountain and along-mountain area,which is consistent with the actual situation.All of these results provide a scientific basis to the local government for the torrent disaster prevention and mitigation planning and layout.
