The Variation of NDVI over Naq County and Relationship with Livestock Population and Meteorological Factors

Based on the MODIS dataset worked out every 16 days by NASA, NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) as index of vegetation cover feature, this paper analyzed the variation of NDVI and the relation between NDVI and meteorological factors over Naqu County in Tibet from 2001 to 2008.Resultsshow that the maximum NDVI and the annual mean NDVI demonstrated a declining trend in the 8 years;the relationship shows a significant positi ve correlation between monthly variation of NDVI and meteorological factors;Variation of annual mean NDVI and mean NDVI of Mar-Aug is not significantly related to meteorological factors;The livestock population is significant negative correlate with mean NDVI of Mar-Aug.
