Abstract
Based on NCEP reanalysis data, the dynamic and thermodynamic factors in a torrential rain process occurred in Lu Zhou City, during Jun.30-Jul.1 2008 are diagnosed.The results show that the torrential rain area is just over the advection area of positive vorticity in front of the upper trough.The existence of couple upper troughs and the configuration of upper and lower trough result in the continuous upward motion, which provide the dynamic environment for this process;the deep high temperature and humidity air as well as the instability favors the process in thermodynamics;meanwhile, both the stream of moisture on the west side of the Subtropical High and the south-deflected airflow in front of the upper trough transported uninterrupted vapor to the eastern Sichuan.In addition, the calculation and analysis of physical elements also confirm that Lu Zhou Torrential Rain Index is available.
