Abstract
With the conventional observation data and Neijiang X-band dual-polarization radar data, the changes in the circulation situation of two different types of strong convective weather in July and August 2021 are analyzed. The results show that: The weather process in July was a regional rainstorm influenced by a low-value system outside the subtropical high and the situation at all levels was well coordinated. The weather process in August was a process of thunderstorms and gales inside the subtropical high, and the middle and lower layers were dominated by easterly air flow and inverted trough shear, so local precipitation was obvious. The local dual-polarization X-band radar reflected the above two severe convective weather basically. In the convective precipitation, ZDR fluctuated between −3.5~3.0 dB, KDP was greater than 3°/km, and ρhv was below 0.98. In the stable precipitation, ZDR was uniformly positive, and the maximum exceeded 3.5 dB, while KDP fluctuated in the range of −0.5~1°/km, and ρhv was above 0.98. In the gale process, ZDR fluctuated between −3.5~3.5 dB, KDP was positive and exceeds 2°/km, and ρhv was above 0.98.
