Study on Climatic Regionalization of Autumn Corn in Chongqing Based on GIS

  • This paper analyzes the relationship between the cultivation and meteorological conditions of autumn corn in Chongqing and the main climatic issues autumn corn faces.It points out that heat is the main factor affecting the distribution of autumn corn.This paper also used the 80% guaranteed rate of corn growth and ≥ 16℃ activity accumulated temperature as the metrics of Chongqing autumn corn and ARCGIS and Digital Elevation Model (DEM) to calculate the spatial distribution of 80% guaranteed rate ≥ 16℃ activity accumulated temperature results during the growth period of autumn corn.In conclusion,the cultivation area of autumn corn in Chongqing is divided into:the abundant-heat area suitable for medium-maturity corn;the area with relatively abundant heat suitable for the cultivation of mid-ripe fresh edible autumn corn;the area with fair heat suitable for early autumn corn;the area with poor heat suitable for precocious fresh edible autumn corn;and the area which is lack of heat and not suitable for the cultivation of autumn corn.This paper also gives the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for issues mentioned above.
