Evaluation of the Influence of Sponge City Construction on Urban Heat Island Effect in Suining City

Abstract
By using the observational data of temperature in Suining main urban area during 2011 ~ 2017, the MODIS satellite remote sensing data and the Landsat TM image data, combine with sponge city construction of Suining city, the urban heat island effect of Suining city was evaluated. The meteorological observation data showed that the urban heat island effect existed in Suining main urban area, and the totality trend of the urban heat island effect during 2011 ~ 2016 was downtrend. The heat island intensity of Suining main urban area in summer was strongest, and closely followed by spring. The analysis results based on the MODIS satellite data showed that the urban heat island area of Suining main urban area gradually enlarged from 2011 to 2014. The strong heat island area and strongest heat island area were concentrated mainly in downtown area. The urban heat island effect was remitted during 2016 ~ 2017, and the strong heat island area and strongest heat island area were eliminated. The urban heat island effect under extreme high-temperature in 2017 was weaker than 2006. The sponge city construction increased the green land area and water area of Suining main urban area, changed the urban road and legitimately planned the urban construction, which remitted the heat island effect of Suining main urban area.
