高低指数环流不连续性周期振荡的物理机制研究

Study on the Physical Mechanism of Discontinuous Periodic Oscillation of High and Low Exponential Circulation

  • 摘要: 本文结合弱非线性理论和动力分歧理论,分析了高低指数环流不连续性周期振荡的物理机制。结果表明:当垂直切变足够大时,西风环流将在低指数和高指数之间不连续性周期振荡,其产生的原因主要有三个方面:(1)斜压波振幅的分歧,是造成纬向环流和经向环流转换在比较短时间内完成的原因;(2)对流层中上层流场的非线性特征,是产生偶极型阻塞形势的关键,而斜压波振幅变化率的方波特征,是能够较长时间维持具有偶极型阻塞形势经向环流的原因;(3)斜压波振幅及振幅变化率通过周期性的调节非线性项大小,控制偶极型阻塞形势的发展和消亡,是维持整个西风环流在纬向环流和经向环流间无限周期循环的原因。

     

    Abstract: Combining weak nonlinear theory and dynamic divergence theory, the physical mechanism of discontinuous periodic oscillation of high and low exponential circulation is analyzed. The results show that: When the vertical shear is large enough, the westerly circulation will oscillate discontinuously between low and high exponential. There are three main reasons : (1) The bifurcation of baroclinic wave amplitude is the cause of the conversion of zonal circulation and meridional circulation in a relatively short period of time. (2) The nonlinear characteristics of the flow field in the middle and upper troposphere are the key to the dipole blocking situation, and the square wave characteristics of baroclinic wave amplitude change rate are the reasons for the meridional circulation with the dipole blocking situation that can maintain for a long time. (3) The amplitude and change rate of baroclinic waves control the development and extinction of the dipole blocking situation by periodically adjusting the magnitude of the nonlinear term, which is the reason for maintaining the infinite cycle of the entire westerly circulation between the zonal circulation and the meridional circulation.
