Abstract: Public weather information service is an important window of foreign meteorological services．In this paper，by analyzing the development process of public weather information service in Nanchong city during last ten years，the changes in public demand for weather information and problems of weather information service are discussed，countermeasures and suggestions to further promote the development of public weather information are proposed，which could lay a certain foundation for sustainable development of the future public weather information service and targeted services for social and economic development in Nanchong city．
