Abstract:
Turbulence is an important element which impacts flight security and normality on Chengdu-Lasa airway.Two turbulence events occurring at Taizhao segment of Lasa airway on 23 Oct 2009 are analyzed as well as forecasted in the way of numerical simulation using WRF model.The result manifests that these two events feature the process of CAT (Clear Air Turbulence), in which the aircraft turbulence happens in the edge of upper air jet stream, the gradient zones where cold and warm advection convergence, or the areas where upward and downward flow switch into each other.The L
P turbulence index calculated though WRF model analysis is able to fix where aircraft turbulence will happen and its height and intensity, so it has certain instructional significance of forecasting.
