Abstract: The intensive observation scientific experiment of the southwest vortex in Sichuan is summarized in the summer of 2010, including the significance, objective, plan, desired achievements and organizations of the scientific experiment.Furthermore, the major achievements of the scientific experiment and its real-time applications in meteorological operation, and the important value for the next observational experiment, scientific research and operational application of the southwest vortex are particularly emphasized.
