风廓线雷达资料在典型天气过程预报预警中的应用

Application of Wind Profile Radar Data in Typical Weather Forecasting and Warning

  • 摘要: 本文基于上海市宝山站2020年11月建成的探测高度16 km的对流层风廓线雷达(TWP16型)资料,结合多普勒雷达产品、宝山自动站观测和MICAPS高低空环流实况数据,对比分析了影响宝山地区的寒潮大风、强对流大风和台风大风过程中TWP16型风廓线资料的演变特征。结果表明:TWP16型风廓线资料对宝山地区上空垂直方向上高时空分辨率的风场变化有一定的刻画能力,能较好地反映出三类大风天气过程中高低空急流、垂直切变、冷暖平流的结构及变化,对影响本地的大风天气监测预警有一定的指示作用。

     

    Abstract: Based on the tropospheric wind profile radar (TWP16) data with a detection height of 16km built at Baoshan station in Shanghai in November 2020, combined with Doppler radar products, Baoshan automatic station observation and MICAPS high and low altitude circulation live data, the evolution characteristics of TWP16 wind profile data in the process of cold wave gale, strong convective gale and typhoon gale affecting Baoshan area are compared and analyzed. The results show that the TWP16 wind profile radar data can reflect the variation characteristics of local wind field with high spatial and temporal resolution in the vertical direction over Baoshan area. It can better indicate the structures and variations of high and low level jets, vertical wind shear, and cold (warm) advection, which is beneficial for the monitoring and early warning of strong wind weather.
