Abstract:
Taking a strong convective weather process in Qinba Mountain area as an example, the characteristics of FY-4A products are analyzed. It reveals the effect of FY-4A products applied to local convection detection in complex mountainous terrain. The results show that the cloud top height and temperature products can reflect the characteristics of convective initiation, convective translation and convective maturation. The effect of cloud height and cloud temperature variability is more obvious, and it can also effectively distinguish the characteristics of convection maturation and convection weakening. FY-4A convective primary products and lightning products can detect the strong convective weather when the convective horizontal scale is large and the comparison is obvious with the environmental background. Therefore, the cloud top height, temperature products of FY-4A and their variability can be used as the support data for local convective detection products and short-term heavy rainfall warning in Qinba Mountain area.
