Abstract:
Based on the lightning location data in 2014, the monthly variation characteristics of lightning frequency, lightning intensity and spatial distribution characteristics of lightning activities in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau were analyzed by mathematical statistics method. The results show that : (1) The lightning frequency of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau shows a unimodal change, and the peak appears in June, earlier than that in the low altitude area. The monthly average lightning frequency in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau is more than that in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. (2) The average positive flash intensity of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau is greater than negative flash. The frequency of the lightning intensity 0~100kA is the most. (3) The spatial distribution of lightning activity in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau has obvious seasonal changes. Lightning in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau occurs mostly in the southeast and central parts of the plateau, less in the northwest and very little in the southwest, while lightning occurred in all areas of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau.
