Abstract: It is well known that the Tibetan Plateau and its surroundings,as the up stream key region for flooding,heavy rainfall,and snowstorms in a large area of eastern China,plays an important role in the water budget of the China,East Asia,and even Global.The research about the water vapor and water vapor transport over the Tibetan Plateau and its surroundings is collected and a review of the related papers is given here.In this article,it is mainly focused on the study about the distribution features of water vapor,the moisture source,and the characteristics of water vapor transport over the Tibetan Plateau and its surroundings,and the great role played by the Tibetan Plateau and near regions on the water budget of the China is also generalized.At same time,the research on the changes of the water vapor and water vapor transport over the region in recent decades and the associated impact are summed up in this paper.In the end,based on the review,the future research direction is discussed.
